HOW TO GET INFORMATION ABOUT RENTING |
- Expensive houses for families are handled by real estate agents.
- Information about single-tenant housing is available through newspapers, magazines, and often posted on bulletin boards at city hall. Many people also find housing by word of mouth.
- Non-commercial realty offices, which provide some services for renters, are becoming more common.

CONTENTS OF THE CONTRACT |
Personal lease |
- In Taiwan, lease negotiations are conducted with the lessor directly. Sometimes a contract is not necessary, and a simple verbal agreement is used instead.

- 1 month's rent as deposit

- 2, 3 months rent in advance

MOVING OUT |
- The lessee must notify the landlord at least 1 month before they leave. Deposits are generally refunded in full. There are no deductions for cleaning or repairs, like there often are in Japan.

RULES |
- You are not likely to encounter any unusual rules when renting in Taiwan. It is still reccomended that you ask the landlord directly, just to be certain, before signing any contracts.
